Brahmas Attend World Read Aloud Day with Students at Cheney Elementary

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX - Brahmas Captain Mason Mara alongside Jakob Karpa, Antii Autere, Ryan Comishock, and Arthur Smith read aloud to the students at nearby Cheney Hills Elementary for World Read Aloud Day. Cheney Elementary is nestled in the heart of the Birdville Independent School District (BISD) and is one of the many elementary schools the Brahmas players visit every season for community events and outreach. Each player spent two hours, going individually from class to class, reading and doing Q&A with the students.
Cheney Elementary's reading specialist Hannah Dearmond remarked, "Your "boys" are rock stars! The kids were talking about them all afternoon and getting autographs. Thanks for making this happen, it was amazing!"
The relationship between Birdville ISD and Brahmas Hockey strengthens every year, and the entire organization is proud to share the NYTEX Sports Centre, Home of the Brahmas, with Birdville High School's hockey teams and numerous other BISD related events. Volunteer outreach like this is essential to maintaining that relationship, as well as developing impactful leadership skills for all of our players and the BISD students they serve. GO CARDINALS!
