North Richland Hills - Brahma goaltender William Gramme has committed to play his college hockey at the University of Wisconsin. Gramme is one of the reasons that the Brahmas are off to such a hot start this season. The Stockholm, Sweden native has earned 5 wins in his first six games with the Brahmas alongside a .924 save percentage and 2.10 goals against average.
Gramme will become the first Brahma goaltender to suit up for the University of Wisconsin whenever he makes his debut. The University of Wisconsin's men's hockey team has 6 NCAA national championships and have been in the NCAA finals over ten times. They are under the direction of legendary hockey coach Tony Granato.
"We are very excited that William has chosen Wisconsin to continue his hockey career and receive a fantastic education while doing so," said Brahmas Associate Head Coach Ryan Anderson when reached for comment prior to boarding the team bus, bound for two games at Corpus Christi. "Grammer has adapted quickly to the North American game and is a big part of the success we have had early this season. We couldn't be happier to have a person of William's caliber in our locker room."
"This is a great commit for William and the Badgers. Gramme came over to our camp, and took a chance over here, and followed that up with a great showing at the showcase. Wisconsin got a good one!" exclaimed Dan Wildfong, Head Coach and GM of the Lone Star Brahmas.
The Brahmas will host the Corpus Christi IceRays this weekend at the Main Arena of the NYTEX Sports Centre and excellent seats remain available for immediate purchase.
