Brady Bogart Returns as Amarillo Dillas Field Manager

Amarillo Dillas News Release

AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Dillas Baseball Club announced today that they have reached an agreement with Brady Bogart to return for a third season as Field Manager. Bogart originally joined the Dillas coaching staff in 2006 when he served as the Pitching Coach, under then Field Manager Buddy Biancalana, for two seasons before being promoted to his current position on October 24, 2007.

During the last four years in Amarillo, Bogart has witnessed both ends of the spectrum from his seat in the dugout as both the Pitching Coach and Field Manager, which coincidentally includes when the club struggled to win games to winning back-to-back United League Championships. In most cases, a team's newfound success would be credited to a managerial change but those who know Bogart best jokingly remind him that changing the pitching coach made the biggest difference.

All kidding aside, when the Dillas take the field this May they will be playing in pursuit of a third-consecutive United League title and despite recent success Bogart isn't going to let that be the focus starting off this year. "We enjoyed a great deal of success on the field last year but that was last year," Bogart said. "It's important that our players understand that last year holds nothing for this year because every season is new". "We will come to Spring Training with the formula of practicing smart, not long, organizing drills with as much efficiency and as little downtime as possible, so that players don't get bored and lose their focus," Bogart added. "We will spend about 30 seconds talking about last year and then we will move on to the task in front of us, which is preparing for this year."

The return of Bogart at the helm does not arrive as unexpected news given the organization's history of staying the course and for Dillas General Manager Mark Lee, stability and consistency play an integral part in a formula for success, both on and off the field. "When we announced Brady (Bogart) as our new field manager back in 2007 I was confident it was the right decision at the time and still do and not because we've won back-to-back league titles", Lee said. "Being the field manager here (Amarillo) is more than just about wins and losses, it's about understanding the importance of the Dillas' role within the community and Brady understands that", Lee added. "We are pleased to have Brady and his family back this year as we look forward to another great year of Dillas baseball".

The Amarillo Dillas Baseball Club is a charter member of United League Baseball, a Professional Independent League, with six teams playing in Texas. ULB teams are located in Amarillo, Coastal Bend, Edinburg, Harlingen, Laredo, and San Angelo.
