Boyette Teams up with Cyclones for Good Cause

Twin City Cyclones News Release
The Twin City Cyclones Professional Ice Hockey Team, members of the Southern Profess ional Hockey League (SPHL), are excited to announce that Boyette Aviation has teamed up with them in an exciting partnership. Two months ago, Cyclones staff, goaltender Shawn Conschafter, and mascot Cy visited Brenner Children's Hospital.
"It was great to be a part of someone's bright spot in their day. The kids and their families have enough on their plates during these tough times, so it was very rewarding to give them a "break" from the everyday hospital routine," said Conschafter.
One of the young men the Cyclone's staff visited happened to be drawing on a sketchpad when they walked into his room. Conschafter began talking to the young man, Donnell, and found out the motive behind the artwork. Sketching had allowed Donnell to pass the time during his stay at Brenners, and provided him with an outlet to forget about his hospital bed, grueling treatments, and countless doctor's visits. The Cyclones netminder asked Donnell if he would be interested in designing a paint scheme for this year's Cyclones goalie mask. Donnell's eye's lit up with disbelief. Within days, a letter had been received in the Cyclone's front office containing an original design for Shawn Conschafter's Twin City Cyclones goalie mask.
Following the hospital visit, the Cyclones were able to team up with Kelvin Boyette of Boyette Aviation in Mount Airy, NC. Boyette Aviation has been a proud supporter of the Piedmont Triad's professional sports teams for years. Kelvin Boyette approached the Cyclones front office with the hopes of coming up with something new and unique for the area's newest professional hockey team. Kelvin expressed great interest in sponsoring Conschafter's goalie mask, as well as all of the Cyclones player helmets for the 2007-08 hockey season. Boyette Aviation will make an on ice presentation Saturday October 27th prior to the Cyclones opening weekend game. Representatives from Boyette Aviation, along with goaltender Shawn Conschafter, will proudly present the Cyclones goalie mask to Donnell with his original artwork professionally airbrushed by Category 5 Customs, of Winston-Salem. The mask will be worn by Conschafter for the 2007-08 hockey season and be officially presented to Donnell at the end of the season.
The Cyclones are also very excited to announce a season long fundraiser for Brenner Children's Hospital. Victories For Hope, is an ongoing pledge drive to raise money for the Child Life Department. Fans have an opportunity to pledge a dollar amount for every win the Cyclones post during the regular 52 game season. The minimum pledge is $1, and all donations are tax deductable. Pledge forms are available at the Twin City Cyclones Customer Service Booth during all home games, and at the Cyclones Hockey Office. Be sure to check out goaltender Shawn Conschafter's mask on display at the Customer Service Booth immediately following the Oct. 27th home game.
