Rome Renegades News Release

ROME, Ga. - Rome (Ga.) defensive end John Bowman was named the American Indoor Football League's Southern Conference lineman of the year, it was announced today.

Now with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League, Bowman set the tone for the Renegades' 12-2 regualar season during his stint in Rome. The Renegades will play the Canton Legends in Monday's American Bowl against the Canton Legends.

Bowman garnered the honor by receiving the most votes among offensive and defensive linemen in the league's recent ProStars balloting.

" John is a player that plays with extreme intensity and desire and being a pass rusher, those are two qualities that you must possess. John was a big part of the Renegades success this year" says Renegades Head Coach David Humphreys.

The special teams player of the year will be announced Thursday and coach of the year Friday.
