Bouchard Named IHL Player of the Week
February 9, 2009 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Muskegon Lumberjacks News Release
MUSKEGON, MI.--- Fashioning the most torrid goal-scoring scourge and surge thus far in this 2008-09 International Hockey League season, right wing "Rockin" Robin Bouchard has been acclaimed the PEPSI / IHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK for the week of February 2nd through February 8th.
Taking ownership of virtually every conceivable scoring record in the Muskegon franchise history, the colorful icon from Jonquiere, PQ has been utterly awesome and then-some in re-assuming his royal and regal reign as one of the most feared, revered, premiere cannoneers in the all-time history of minor professional hockey.
In his Lumberjacks team's recently completed 4-games in 5-nights work week the past week, Bouchard was never, ever better with his uncanny cannonading in terrorizing and vandalizing the adversary's goal. In those 4-games, "Bouch Almighty" ripped 8-goals, added 3-assists for 11-points with 6-PIM, 25-SOG and extraordinary +8 rating. Included in his week's work were one #1 Star award, one #2 Star honor as well as one #3 Star recognition. His prodigious offensive output produced 1-FG, 1-GTG, 2-PG, 3-TBG, 3-PPG and one dramatic OT/GWG.
Bouchard contributed three consecutive multiple goal games for the week along with four consecutive multi-point masterpieces. He was integrally and intrinsically instrumental on 11 of the Lumberjacks 15-goals that they scored for the full week.
At this juncture of the campaign, "The Gun-Sling King" has equaled the IHL league-wide standard for this season for longest goal-scoring streak. Bouchard's latest goal-scoring binge has reached 6-consecutive games and still counting. In that span, Muskegon's all-time career goal-cannoneering colossus has fired 11-goals, along with 4-assists for 15-points. Moreover, in his last 13-games, Bouchard has rifled rockets totaling 18-goals while adding 5-assists for a grand output of a prolific 23-points for a points per game average of a lustrous 1.77.
Presently in his 12th Muskegon season, the famous #32 continues to scale the heights of minor pro hockey grandeur. His 621-career goals rank sixth all-time in minor pro hockey history. The five players directly ahead of Bouchard are no longer on active status.
Returning to the Muskegon pro hockey scene in early January, Bouchard was the Lumberjacks nomination for Pepsi / IHL Player of the Month as he cranked a club-high 10-goals in 12-games, finishing a lofty second in Lumberjacks team scoring for the month.
This weekly award represents the initial such honor for Bouchard since his latest return to Muskegon.
