Boston Breakers Look to Close out 2015 on High Note Sunday in Houston

HANOVER, Mass. (Aug. 28, 2015) - The Boston Breakers will cap their 2015 campaign at Houston Sunday (8:30 p.m. ET at BBVA Compass Stadium) against the Dash.

The Breakers are coming off a 3-1 loss at Seattle on Wednesday. With the loss, Boston fell to 4-12-3 overall.

The Reign pressured Boston's back line early, and Alyssa Naeher and the Boston defense held strong, but Megan Rapinoe struck one past the diving reach of Naeher on an assist from Stephanie Cox in the 21st minute to give Seattle the lead. Kendall Fletcher found the back of the net for Seattle in the 34th minute. NWSL Player of the Week Kim Little netted her 10th goal of the season and sixth goal in as many games in the 56th minute.

Houston sits in seventh place in the NWSL table with 20 points, holding a 5-8-5 record, and have dropped four in a row.

The Dash are also coming off a loss to the Reign, falling at home by a final of 3-0 on Aug. 21.

Jessica McDonald leads the Dash with seven goals, while Carli Lloyd and Kealia Ohai are tied for the second with four each.

Boston is 1-0 against Houston this season, picking up its first win of the 2015 campaign on April 26, a 3-2 triumph over the visiting Dash. Defender and captain Julie King got Boston on the board in eighth minute, putting in a loose ball off a corner kick from Rafinha. Nkem Ezurike scored Boston'ts second goal in the 31st minute on a one-timer from Stephanie McCaffrey. Houston stormed back as McDonald tallied two goals in three minutes to tie the game. Boston took the lead on an own goal from Carli Lloyd as the ball bounced off her leg on a free kick from Kristie Mewis.

Houston has a slightly new look this time around, having added Brazilians Camila and Andressa to the roster. Andressa teamed up with Breakers midfielder Rafinha at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada, while Camila played for the same team in Brazil - Ferroviária - as both Rafinha and Breakers midfielder Bia.

Other new faces for Houston are Australian defender Ellie Brush and former Flash defender Toni Pressley.
