(Buffalo, NY) - The Boston Blazers historic first season ended in dramatic fashion with 13-12 overtime win over the Buffalo Bandits on a diving goal by Marshfield's Sean Morris in front of 18, 527 fans at HSBC Arena on Saturday night. Down 10-5 midway through the third quarter, the Blazers stormed back outscoring Buffalo 8-2 down the stretch as the Blazer closed out their regular season with a 10-6 record. The team split its season series with Buffalo 1-1 and now readies for postseason play.
For Boston, rookie sensation Daryl Veltman continued his high octane offensive output with four goals and three assists while Sean Morris had three goals and four assists and Dan Dawson dished a game-high five assists with two goals. Goalie Anthony Cosmo stopped 35 of 47 Buffalo shots.
John Tavares (four goals and three assists), Mike Accursi (three goals, four assists) and Mark Steenhuis (three goals and one assist) led Buffalo. Goalie Ken Montour stopped 45 of 58 Boston shots for Buffalo.
