Thunder Bay Border Cats News Release
Thunder Bay, Ont. - The Thunder Bay Border Cats have teamed up with Boston Pizza to give back to local Thunder Bay heroes. The Border Cats and Boston Pizza will be delivering pizza and baseball tickets to local heroes such as EMS Services, Police, Firefighters, nurses, volunteers, and Crossing Guards every Thursday starting May 19th. Fans will also have the opportunity to nominate someone they consider a local hero on social media by tagging Thunder Bay Border Cats and including the hash tag #HometownHeros.
"Hometown Heroes" will allow us, in a small way, to show our appreciation to those who are working to make Thunder Bay better." says Dan Grant, General Manager for Thunder Bay Border Cats. "The Border Cats organization is proud to be part of this community and we want to share our enthusiasm with groups and individuals who help make Thunder Bay great."
The Hometown Heroes kick off will take place at the Police-Fire CanAm Games office this Thursday, May 19. The CanAm games will be taking place this July in Thunder Bay, and will be the largest multi sports event to be held in Thunder Bay.
"We feel this group is very deserving for this first Hometown Heroes visit as they're working so hard to bring an awesome event to Thunder Bay. The number of volunteer hours to put on an event like this is incredible." says Sharon Mercier, Community Relations Coordinator for Boston Pizza.
