Booth, Reid Make All-Star Squad

SAN ANGELO – The San Angelo Saints today are proud to announce that goaltender Scott Reid and defenseman Derek Booth have been named to the Southern Conference All-Star Team for the Dodge CHL All-Star Game on January 22nd in New Mexico. They join forward Chris Minard who was previously named an All-Star starter for the Southern Conference. This marks the first time San Angelo has ever sent three players to the All-Star Game.

Booth currently leads the Saints' defensemen in Points (19), Goals (6), Shooting Percentage (.150) and Plus/Minus (+5). He is also tied for 13th among CHL defensemen in points, is 4th in goals and 2nd in game-winning goals.

Reid is 2nd in the CHL in Wins (17), 3rd in Minutes, 1st in Saves (843), 6th in Save% (.926) and tied for 3rd in Shoot-Out Wins (2).

Both are making their first appearance in the CHL All-Star Game. Booth was previously an All-Star in the ECHL with Toledo in 1992-93 and with South Carolina in 1994-95. Reid was the Saints' Rookie of the Year last season and was named an Unsung Hero of the CHL by In The Crease and Just Hockey Magazine.

Joe Blaznek – Lubbock
Sebastien Thinel – Odessa
Derek Hahn – Amarillo

Defensemen
Mike Tilson – Corpus Christi
Daniel Tetrault – Austin
Serge Dube – Laredo

Laredo leads the conference with four All-Star selections followed by the Saints and Amarillo with three each. The Southern Conference team will be coached by Laredo head coach Terry Ruskowski – who picked the reserve players in conjunction with the CHL's Game Operations staff.
