Hartford Colonials News Release

JACKSONVILLE, FL - Tuesday, December 21 - Former Hartford Colonials running back LORENZO BOOKER was busy as a kickoff returner for the Minnesota Vikings in their 40-14 home loss to the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football.

Booker returned eight kickoffs for 157 yards, and also caught two passes for 14 yards. His longest kickoff return was 49 yards, coming on the next-to-last play of the third quarter.

In two games with the Vikings, Booker has returned 12 kickoffs for 280 yards (23.3-yard average), and has three catches for 20 yards.

Playing in seven games with the Colonials, Booker finished the 2010 United Football League season with 410 rushing yards (fourth in the league), 650 yards from scrimmage (fourth) and 650 all-purpose yards (fifth). His 5.4-yard rushing average was tops in the UFL during the regular season as well.

Booker set two UFL records this past season. In Week 1 at home against Sacramento, he took a screen pass from quarterback Josh McCown and turned it into a UFL-record-long 80-yard touchdown connection. In Week 7 at Sacramento, Booker ran for a league-record 147 yards on just 17 carries.

This is Booker's second stint in the NFL. He previously played two seasons with the Miami Dolphins (2007) and Philadelphia Eagles (2008).

Monday's game was played outdoors at TCF Bank Stadium due to the collapse of the roof at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. It was the Vikings' first outdoor home game in exactly 29 years.
