Bonecrushers' RB Randy Bell named CIFL Offensive Player of the Week

The Continental Indoor Football League has named Milwaukee Bonecrushers' running back Randy Bell as its Week 3 Offensive Player of the Week. The award comes after the 2008 CIFL Offensive Player of the Year accumulated 170 all-purpose yards and scored three times in the Bonecrushers' 53-40 victory over Bell's former team, the Rock River Raptors, Friday night in Rockford, Ill.
In all, Bell had his hands on the ball 12 times, averaging 14.2 yards per touch and one score every four opportunities. Bell caught two passes, both for touchdowns, for 26 and 30 yards, respectively. He also carried the ball eight times for 48 yards and a touchdown of 11 yards and returned two kicks for a total of 66 yards.
This marks the first time a Bonecrushers' player has won a CIFL Player of the Week award from the in the team's two-year history.
Between rushes, receptions and kick returns in 2008, Bell touched the ball 153 times for the Raptors, accumulating 1,318 yards (8.6 yards per play) and 32 touchdowns (20.9 percent touchdown rate). A standout at Tennessee's Carson-Newman College, Bell was once signed by the NFL's Cleveland Browns and comes to the Bonecrushers after three years with Rock River.
In recognition of his player of the week award, Bell will be head coach LeRoy McFadden's guest on the Milwaukee Bonecrushers' official coaches show, The Coaches' Corner with LeRoy McFadden, airing live from La Piazza Restaurant at 1504 E. North Ave. on Thursday night. The show will start at 8 p.m. Bell will be available to speak to the local media after the show.
