Dayton Bombers News Release

The Dayton Bombers have announced the re-signing of defensemen Bryan Nathe and Tyler Scott.

Nathe started the 2004 season at training camp with the American Hockey League (AHL) Cincinnati Mighty Ducks before joining the Bombers at the start of the regular season.

The Elk River, Minnesota native played for the US Junior National Team and Northeastern University before a two-year stint in the WHL led him to go pro last season with the Bombers.

"Bryan was likely the Most Improved player over the course of the (2004) season," said head coach Don MacAdam. "Each month of the season, he just became more effective for us. I expect him to contribute from the beginning of the season this year," MacAdam continued.

"It's been a long summer," said Nathe. "I'm really excited about it. I know Don (MacAdam) is excited for me to come back and I definitely want to be there, so I'm looking forward to getting back on the ice."

Scott joined the Bombers part way through the 2004 season and made an immediate impact with his on-ice vision. The 6-0, 200-pound Rockville, Maryland native has dedicated his summer to improving his foot speed for his second pro season.

The 25-year-old defender was three years with the University of New Hampshire where he played two years with Bomber goalie Mike Ayers before going pro with the Tulsa Oilers of the CHL. Scott racked up 6 goals and 10 assists in 41 games with Dayton last season while serving just 42 penalty minutes.

"This is Tyler's second year as a pro," said head coach Don MacAdam. "Generally both the player and the team expect a lot more in the second year. It's the ‘make-or-break' season." Scott is expected to take on a larger role, according to MacAdam.

"I'm really excited to come back. It's good to see some familiar faces coming back," said Scott in a telephone interview Thursday. "Things are really shaping up to be a good year."

The Bombers open their season on Saturday, October 22 against in-state rival, Toledo. Contact the Dayton Bombers office at (937) 775-4747 for ticket information for the 15th Anniversary season of Dayton Bombers Hockey.
