Dayton Bombers News Release

The Dayton Bombers have announced that they will not be renewing the contract of Greg Ireland for the 2003-2004 season.

"I would like to thank Greg for the contributions he has made on and off the ice here in Dayton for the last five years," said Tim Reilly, Bombers President/Managing Partner. "On behalf of the Bombers, we wish Greg the best in his future career endeavors in hockey. He will always remain a friend of the Bombers' organization and we are parting on amicable terms."

No time frame has been announced by the club to have a new coach in place, but the search will begin immediately.

In related news, the Bombers have announced that Greg Ireland has joined the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League (affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Edmonton Oilers) to assist Head Coach Geoff Ward in the team's Calder Cup Playoff run. Currently, Hamilton is leading 2-0 in a Best-of-Seven Calder Cup Playoff Series entering tonight's Game Three.
