Bombers Drop Sloppy Game 9-6 to Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The Springfield Sliders jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first and never looked back, cruising to a 9-6 win over the Dubois County Bombers Wednesday night at Robin Roberts Stadium in Springfield.

Starter Cody Repenning earned the win for Springfield, pitching six and one-third innings and allowing one run and five hits and a walk. He struck out two.

Bombers starter Ryan Billo took the loss, surrendering four runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out four.

Matt Tellor led the Sliders with six runs-batted-in while six different Bombers had one RBI apiece.

Dubois County committed five errors and walked seven Sliders; Springfield pitching walked six Bombers. Each team allowed one unearned run.

The Bombers head to Hannibal, Mo., for a pair against the Cavemen before returning home for a three-game set versus the Terre Haute Rex that starts with a doubleheader on Saturday at League Stadium (gates open at 5:45 p.m.).
