
Bombers center nominated for Ironman Award

Dayton, OH- The Dayton Bombers of the ECHL are proud that center Paul Kelly has been nominated for the 2006 InterContinental Hotels Group Ironman Award, as announced in a release issued by the Professional Hockey Players' Association (PHPA) on Wednesday.
Bombers General Manager and Head Coach Don MacAdam stated: "Paul made a positive contribution to the Bombers. He was one of our best player's game in and game out the last third of the season. We are thrilled that Paul's efforts are being recognized with this nomination."
Nominations for the Ironman Award are based upon individual player performance, with primary consideration placed on games played, points, and plus/minus statistics. A committee comprised of PHPA officials will announce the winner at its annual meeting of player representatives in June.
Kelly, a 6'2" 202-pound native of West Peabody Massachusetts, was acquired in a trade from the Augusta Lynx in January and played in a combined 73 games between Augusta and Dayton.
While in Dayton, Kelly played in 42 games, scoring a total of 37 points on 18 goals and 19 assists. Kelly was also ranked 5th among rookies in the ECHL with his 234 shots on goal.
