Bolton Wanderers Update - Four Players Getting Set For World Cup Matches

Charleston, SC. The Charleston Battery hosts the Barclays English Premier League's Bolton Wanderers on July 17, but for four of Bolton's players the 2010 FIFA World Cup will take priority for the next month. Three members of the squad are involved in matches this Saturday; midfielder Lee Chung-Yong will lead his country out on Saturday morning as they battle Greece at 7:30 AM. Then at 10 AM defender Danny Shittu and Nigeria take on Argentina followed by the much anticipated 2:30 PM afternoon match as Stuart Holden and the US side square off against England.

Bolton's fourth player at the World Cup is Slovakian striker Vladimir Weiss; Slovakia opens their tournament on Tuesday morning with a 7:30 AM match against New Zealand.

All of the 2010 FIFA World Cup is being broadcast live on ABC or ESPN, locally the US matches are also available via ESPN Radio 910 The Team. The Three Lions Pub at Blackbaud Stadium will be open throughout the tournament for viewing parties starting with South Africa versus Mexico on Friday, June 11 at 10 AM.

The Bolton News is reporting that Manchester City winger Martin Petrov may be a potential summer target for Wanderers boss Owen Coyle. Also on the radar are Real Madrid youngsters Marco Alonso and Rodrigo Moreno, Burnley's Wade Elliott, and former loanees Ivan Klasnic and Jack Wilshere.
