Charlotte FC News Release
CHARLOTTE, N.C.ÃÂ -ÃÂ CharlotteÃÂ FCÃÂ andÃÂ BojanglesÃÂ announced today a multi-year partnership agreement,ÃÂ cementingÃÂ the Charlotte-basedÃÂ restaurant brand famous for its Southern recipesÃÂ as theÃÂ Official Tailgate Partner andÃÂ Tailgate Headquarters ofÃÂ the Queen City's new Major League SoccerÃÂ club.ÃÂ
"We're so excited to have our very own MLS team to root for, and we're thrilled to personally welcome Charlotte FC to our hometown," said Jackie Woodward, Bojangles' chief brand and marketing officer. "No one knows tailgating like Bojangles, so we hope fans will spend their gamedays with us as we create new traditions together both on and off the field!"
Along withÃÂ theÃÂ official tailgateÃÂ designation, BojanglesÃÂ has made a significant commitment to the club's community engagement efforts, which includeÃÂ partneringÃÂ with Charlotte FC on the construction of a mini-pitch at a to-be-determined location in the Carolinas andÃÂ supportingÃÂ the club's afterschoolÃÂ soccerÃÂ programmingÃÂ with aÃÂ focus on literacy.ÃÂ ÃÂ
The partnership also providesÃÂ BojanglesÃÂ with additionalÃÂ activationÃÂ and promotional opportunities, includingÃÂ a new Bojangles section in the stadium. The Southern chain will carry on itsÃÂ popularÃÂ "Bring Me Bojangles"ÃÂ in-stadium promotion that deliversÃÂ its famous chicken and biscuitsÃÂ to one lucky fan at each Charlotte FC match,ÃÂ beginning with the team'sÃÂ inauguralÃÂ season in 2022.ÃÂ Bojangles will alsoÃÂ serve as the entitlementÃÂ sponsorÃÂ forÃÂ one of the matches during each season of theÃÂ deal, which includes activations on site and fan giveaways.ÃÂ
ÃÂ "Adding Bojangles to Charlotte FC's roster of partnersÃÂ enablesÃÂ our clubÃÂ toÃÂ work with a brand that will trulyÃÂ engage fans at the stadium and in the community,"ÃÂ saidÃÂ Nick Kelly,ÃÂ President of Charlotte FC. "We'reÃÂ veryÃÂ excited to have an enthusiasticÃÂ hometown company on board before our inaugural matchÃÂ in 2022.ÃÂ Together we canÃÂ continueÃÂ making meaningful connections withÃÂ new and existingÃÂ soccerÃÂ fans across North and South Carolina."
The fan-favorite restaurant and new home of CharlotteÃÂ soccer hosted an announcement event at the Bojangles onÃÂ 1402 West Trade St., Charlotte,ÃÂ where they officially kicked off their partnership alongside key stakeholders from bothÃÂ organizations. Bojangles CEO JoseÃÂ ArmarioÃÂ and CMO Jackie Woodward gathered with Charlotte FC President Nick KellyÃÂ and Tepper Sports & Entertainment President Tom GlickÃÂ to make the announcement.ÃÂ To celebrate, Bojangles will be giving out co-branded Bojangles and Charlotte FC soccer scarves at the West Trade St. location with the purchase of its Family Meal while supplies last.ÃÂ
Bojangles has also renewed its longstanding relationship with the Carolina Panthers and will work with Tepper SportsÃÂ & EntertainmentÃÂ to engage with both organizations year-roundÃÂ asÃÂ tailgating in Charlotte isÃÂ crucial to bring fans closer to the game.ÃÂ ÃÂ ÃÂ
