BOISE, Idaho ¾ The Boise Burn are set to open training camp this weekend in preparation for the arenafootball2's tenth season, and the Burn's third.
Players reported on Saturday for physicals and a team orientation and will hold their first practice on Sunday from 9am-Noon at the Caven-Williams Sports Complex at Boise State University. Practices will be held 9-Noon all week with the first roster cuts (to 30) on Friday, March 13. The final roster cuts, to the season-opening 22-man roster, will be made after the team scrimmage on Saturday the 21st.
Under af2 rules, teams are allowed to open camp two weeks prior to the week of their first regular season game. Teams are allowed to bring 35 players to camp (not including the optional two-player International Training Squad), but must cut down to 30 on the third day of full contact camp. The final cut to 22 players (19-active; three-inactive) is the Monday prior to their first game by 3:00 p.m. ET.
