Rome, GA - The Sixth Annual Hot Stove Gathering will be held at State Mutual Stadium on Thursday January 31st from 5:30 until 7:30pm.

Fans can look forward to a night of fun as Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox will be on hand along with special invited guests from the Atlanta organization. The 2008 Rome field staff of Randy Ingle, Bobby Moore, trainer Chas Miller, and pitching coach Jim Czajkowski will also be in attendance.

Bobby Cox has been named Manager of the Year four times (1985, 1991, 2004, and 2005) and is one of only three managers to have won the award in both the American and National League. He is also the only person to have won the award in consecutive years. Cox has also been named Manager of the Year by The Sporting News eight times (1985, 1991, 1993, 1999, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005). On May 12, 2007, Cox passed Sparky Anderson to become the fourth-winningest manager in major league history, with a record of 2,195 wins and 1,698 losses. He has won a World Series Championship in 1995. In 2001, he became the most successful manager in Braves history. Cox's .561 winning percentage is fourteenth all-time among managers with at least 1,000 games managed.

"Bobby Cox is a future Hall of Fame manager and we are privileged to have him participate with us at our annual Hot Stove event," says Rome General Manager Michael Dunn.

Heavy hor d'oeuvres with food stations and drinks will be located throughout the stadium and the Three Rivers Club. An autograph session in addition to a question and answer program will take place. Door prizes will be given throughout the evening.

Once again this year the Rome Braves will hold a silent auction from 5:30pm-7:00pm. Items have been donated from Major and Minor League teams across the country.

Tickets for the event can be purchased online at www.romebraves.com at $30 per person or at the Rome Braves ticket office. Tickets are limited.
