DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Daytona Beach Thunder have signed former Rome (Ga.) Renegades quarterback Bo Bartik, Head Coach Leon Bright announced today.
Bartik led the now-defunct Renegades to consecutive champions hip game appearances in 2005 when the team was in the National Indoor Football League and 2006 in the American Indoor Football League.
Last season, Bartik took over after Rome lost quarterback Marcus Brady and several other key players to the Canadian Football League and the Arena Football League in mid-season, winning eight of nine games to put the Renegades in the AIFL title game.
"Bo is an experienced, proven quarterback in the indoor football ranks,'' Bright said. "He knows how to manage a game and make the talent around him that much better. He's going to have another shot at getting a ring here in Daytona Beach."
Bartik looks forward to joining the Thunder organization.
"I was blessed to be part of a great organization in Rome," Bartik said. "From top to bottom, the Thunder is a great organization and it feels good to be a part of it."
The Thunder hosts the Augusta Spartans on Sunday, February 11 in the inaugural game of the World Indoor Football League.
