
Blumenthal powers Rockies to long awaited win

The Casper Rockies started the Friday night fireworks in a hurry Friday night in Casper. Kyle Blumenthal clubbed a grand slam in the first inning of Casper's 14-7 win over Missoula. Blumenthal would go on to knock in eight runs on the night.
Casper snapped a five-game losing streak, with all of those loses came against Missoula. Missoula also saw their season-high six game winning streak end. Casper's Brandon Durden earned his first win of the season, working 5 1/3rd innings. He struck out a season-best eight men as well. Missoula's Greg Smith took the loss absorbing 11 earned runs.
Other Rockies standouts including Eric Young Jr., 4-5 with four runs scored, Corey Wimberly, 3-5 with two RBI, and Daniel Mayora, 3-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base.
The two clubs play the rubber match on Saturday night at Lansing field. 7:05 is the first pitch as Anuery Rodriguez starts for Casper versus Matt Green of the Osprey.
The win for Casper makes the Rockies 10-9 in the second half and 30-27 overall. With Orem losing in Great Falls the Rockies are now three complete games in front of the Owlz for the South's wildcard playoff spot and four in front of Idaho Falls.
