Orange County SC News Release
IRVINE, Calif. - Saturday night the OC Blues will return home to Anteater Stadium for a special Autism Awareness Night when they host Real Monarchs SLC at 7pm PST. The Blues (4-5-3) are on 15 points, currently one behind Real Monarchs SLC (4-6-4) with 16 points in the USL Western Conference.
Orange County Blues FC has partnered up with non-profit Autism Speaks, the nation's leading autism science and advocacy organization, which is dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, and treatments for autism. Soccer for Hope, the official charity of the OC Blues, will be presenting the "Blue for a Day" honor to David Ferreira, an outstanding member of the Autism Speaks community. Orange County Blues FC will also be donating a portion of ticket sales from the match to benefit the non-profit.
The Blues will be excited to come home after going unbeaten in four of their previous five matches at Anteater Stadium. Orange County came away empty handed in their last match, where they suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Arizona United SC last week. The Blues will look to return to the form that found them five unanswered goals to defeat Seattle Sounders FC 2 on June 4th, the last time the Blues were on home turf.
The Monarchs have struggled for consistency this season, having travelled to league leaders Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 and becoming the first side to beat Vancouver all season then they took on Sacramento Republic FC in back to back fixtures, the first at Bonney Field and the second at Aces Ballpark in Reno but fell 1-0 and 2-1 respectively. They will however, have fond memories of playing the Blues, having recorded a 3-1 win over the Blues on May 22nd and they will be looking for a repeat performance this time around.
Tickets for the match on June 18 at Anteater Stadium are still on sale. To access discounted tickets and help support Autism Speaks, you can order HERE: /bit.ly/1UEiL4Q
