
Bluefish fall in extra inning loss

In the second extra-inning game in as many days the Bluefish fell to the Atlantic City Surf 5-4 in 12 innings.
Bryant Nelson ripped his 23rd double of the season to start the offense for the Bluefish. He was sacrificed to third and then came home on a single from P.J. Rose.
With Willis Otanez on first in the bottom of the fourth inning Damian Rolls executed a perfect hit and run, advancing Otanez to third. Norm Hutchins followed with a single to bring home Otanez and give the Bluefish a 2-0 lead. Pogue then singled up the middle, scoring Rolls (3-0).
Eddy Ramos took the game over for the Bluefish in the top of the sixth inning with two runners in scoring position and one out. Ramos forced one out and allowed a run to cross the plate, cutting the Bluefish lead to 3-1. Nick Bierbrodt closed out the inning by striking out Clyde Williams.
Dario Delgado tied up the game in the top of the eighth with a two-run homer off of the arena beyond the left field wall.
With the Bluefish bullpen depleted the Bluefish turned to Hutchins to take the mound in the 11th inning getting out of the inning having given up no runs. Hutchins gave up the lead in the 12th inning when Delgado connected for a two-run single up the middle.
Hine walked in the bottom of the 12th inning for the Bluefish and came around to score when Rolls ripped a doubled down the left-field line, but it would not be enough for the Fish who fell to the Surf 5-4.
