Bluefins Announce Founders Club

This is a very exciting time for Cape Cod. We now have our very own professional hockey team, the Cape Cod Bluefins. The Bluefins are a first year member of the Federal Hockey League and play teams from CT, NY,NJ,IL and Canada. With a young team the Bluefins are off to a very good start for a first year team and are building momentum as the season goes on. It has been fun to watch the team come together on and off the ice as well as their support of the youth in our community through youth hockey clinics.

Our team is comprised of resent college grads, seasoned veterans and young men either aspiring to play at the next level or using professional hockey to open doors for their future. Our starting goalie, Wes Vesprini, is a 2011 graduate from Trinity College with a degree in economics. Wes was a four-year starter, a college All American and won a NESCAC Championship. Jeff Lang, a veteran defenseman, was the captain at UMass Amherst and has played at both the AHL and the ECHL levels. Jeff resides in Chatham and is the General Manager of the Comfort Inn In Hyannis. Anthony Sarno is our player/assistant coach and the captain of the Cape Cod Bluefins. Anthony had a very successs full pro career in Europe and was the player assistant last year for the FHL Champions, Akwesasne Warriors, last season. Finally, Andrew Hutton, is a forward, the assistant captain, and a graduate of Fitchburg State. Andrew is a native Cape Coder from Brewster and had a very successful season in the FHL with the Barons last year.

As a new team, we need help getting the word out to the community, and while that momentum builds, financial resources to stay afloat. We are slowly building our fan base, but we need your help! We have just formed the Cape Cod Bluefins Founders' Club. The club is open to anyone, and membership is for life. This is a unique opportunity to be part of our own professional sports franchise right from the beginning.
