Wilmington, DE - The Wilmington Blue Rocks' Third Annual Toy Drive to benefit the Mary Campbell Center's Children and Youth Program has begun. Toys can be dropped off at Frawley Stadium anytime Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The Blue Rocks are also excited to partner with the Riverfront Market for a special collection date. On Saturday, Dec. 5, Rocky Bluewinkle will join the Blue Rocks front office to collect gifts and interact with fans at the Riverfront Market's Holiday Happenings from noon to 2:00 p.m.

The Holiday Happenings event is highlighted by a visit from Santa Claus. Festivities include face painting and children's activities along with special holiday package offerings from the Blue Rocks. The Riverfront Market, next to Harry's Seafood Grill, will be open with food and beverages available for purchase. The event itself and parking are free.

The Blue Rocks Holiday Gift Drive benefits The Mary Campbell Center's Children and Youth Program. The Mary Campbell Center is a community of persons with disabilities, along with the staff and volunteers who assist them each day. The Children and Youth Program offers unique activities for children with special needs, ages 3-21, and their families. The main focus of the program is to improve the social and recreational skills of the participants through play, while promoting independence, self-esteem and growth. The center strives to promote positive peer interaction, physical development, creative expression, problem solving and teamwork.

The gifts can be slightly used or new. Games, puzzles, art supplies and sports equipment are recommended, but any and all gifts collected will be graciously accepted. For health concerns, please do not bring any stuffed animals. Fans will receive a coupon for the Quarry Souvenir Store if they donate a gift. All gifts must be received by Wednesday, Dec. 9.
