MARION, OH- The Marion Blue Racers is proud to announce that they have resigned Michael Cross. Cross, a man who is considered by many to be the most dominating weapon in the indoor game, returns to Marion after two seasons in the IFL.
Mike Cross, also known as "The Big Ticket", is a 6'6" Defensive Lineman who has vowed that he will be a force to be reckoned with in the UIFL. He is now three(3) days away from joining 2011 UIFL defensive MVP Thomas "T-Mac" McKenzie, and 2011 CIFL sack Champion and current UIFL single game sack record holder Ray Saunders, in the trenches, as they take on the rival Cincinnati Commandos at the Historic Cincinnati Gardens.
"Cross is an impact player," Assistant GM and Vice President of Operations Ryan Sawyer said. "He has the ability to command a double team from opposing offensive lineman, therefore completely changing the game for Ray (Saunders) and T-Mack (Thomas McKenzie). After working him out, he looks more explosive than when he left last year."
Cross, who is already receiving interest from AFL teams, is looking to take his talents to the next level, but happily returns to Marion in hopes of bringing a UIFL championship home. In a brief statement, Cross was quoted as saying, "I'm loyal to the fans of Marion but most importantly, I believe in the Blue Racer organization and in its ability to market my football abilities."
Marion (5-1) will travel to face Cincinnati next week in the Historic Cincinnati Gardens for the first of four meetings between the two rivals. The Marion Blue Racers next home game will be Saturday, May 5th against the Cincinnati Commandos. Kick off for home games are slated to begin at 7:30pm.
