Blue Jackets Blue Jackets make trade with Green Bay
COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Ohio Junior Blue Jackets acquired defenseman Ryan Hill (Hermantown, Minn.) and a seventh round selection in the 2007 United States Hockey League Draft from the Green Bay Gamblers in exchange for defenseman Toby Heaslip (Naples, Fla.) to the Green Bay Gamblers, General Manager Don Harkins announced today.
The 6-foot-3, 184-pound Hill played in two games for the Gamblers this season, both against Indiana. Hill was selected in the 14th round with the 115th overall pick in the USHL Entry Draft.
"As an expansion team, we are trying to find our own identity and create team chemistry," said Harkins. "Toby is a great kid, and we wish him the best. At the same time, we're excited to have Ryan."
Hill is expected to join the team Friday and will be in the lineup this weekend when the Junior Blue Jackets play host to the Sioux City Musketeers on Saturday and Sunday. Game time is at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Dispatch Ice Haus and at 6 p.m. Sunday in Nationwide Arena.
