The application will be available on the Blue Crabs website at www.somdbluecrabs.com and contains questions to gauge the scope of the organization, their objectives, initiatives, and their needs. All application materials must be submitted to the Blue Crabs by the 15th of the month prior to their desired theme for consideration. Every organization that applies for the Pinch Fund will receive 10 tickets to their designated theme game as well.
"We believe in being much more than a professional baseball team in Southern Maryland. Our stadium contains a field for baseball, but that field also serves as a stage for many things. We really believe this program can help make an impact in our backyard, especially with the great changes we've made to our fundraising program" says Blue Crabs Assistant General Manager Brian Radle.
The re-vamped fundraising program with the Blue Crabs has gone to another level of giving all while elimintating risk. Organizations select a specific home game and are provided with an online ticket code. A flyer is then provided to the organization with their logo, game date and code. For every ticket purchased for the game through the code, the organization will receive $6.50.
"We really want to make this easy for organizations too, so we've eliminated any ticket minimums, and it's totally free to get enrolled. All you have to do is call us" says Radle.
The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs are a member of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, and play at Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf, Maryland. The franchise is entering its 5th Anniversary season in the spring of 2012, coming off the team's third consecutive playoff appearance.
