
Blowfish Lose 7-3 Saturday

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Columbia Blowfish traveled up north to take on the Fayetteville Swampdogs Saturday night at J.P. Riddle Stadium.
The Columbia blowfish struck first with two runs in the top of the first. Followed by one run in the third.
The demise of the blowfish would come in the bottom half of the fourth inning as the Swampdogs would place a seven spot on the blowfish.
The starter for the blowfish Saturday was right-hander Zach Russell-Meyers (blue field), who threw 3.1 innings giving up seven runs, off of eight hits, two walks and five strikeouts.
These would be the only runs the Swampdogs would score the rest of the night as blowfish relievers Connor Sullivan (Niagra) and Jon Olczak (N.C. State) shut things down only allowing one hit for the remainder of the game.
Russell-Meyers picked up the loss moving him to (3-3) on the season.
Starter for the Swampdogs Saturday was Ben Burns (Georgia State), who tossed seven innings giving up three runs off of six hits, one walk and two strikeouts.
This loss will bring the blowfish to the end of their five game win streak. Columbia is now (17-11) on the season and sitting in second place of the western standings in the CPL.
