Lexington County Blowfish News Release

GASTONIA, NC - The Columbia Blowfish traveled to Gastonia for a Saturday night tilt against the Gastonia Grizzlies looking to snap out of a recent funk.

2 losses to Asheboro on the week, a rainout and a game suspended by inclement weather had the Blowfish searching for some mojo.

None was to be found in Gastonia either tonight, as the Blowfish fell 5-2 to one of their CPL West foes.

Ben Schniederjans took the loss on the hill, giving up 9 hits and 5 earned runs in 7 innings of work. Schniederjans falls to 0-2 on the summer for Columbia.

Chase Shelton of Charleston Southern was 1 for 4, driving in both Blowfish runs on the evening.

The Blowfish take their 6-9 record back home to Historic Capital City Stadium for a Father's Day doubleheader at The Cap.

Two seven inning games will be played, with the first pitch of game one at 5:05PM. Young Blowfish fans and their fathers can play catch on the field in between the ballgames, and are able to run the bases after the games as well.
