Green Bay Blizzard News Release
San Diego, CA â WE WIN! That is a phrase Blizzard fans are not use to hearing, but after their thumping of the San Diego Riptide 67-49, the Blizzard is 1-0 on the season for the first time ever. Some more firsts, first road win, a winning record and tied for first in the Midwest Division with Quad City Steamwheelers.
It took just one game in a Blizzard uniform for OS Randall Lane to establish himself as a legitimate weapon with the Blizzard. Lane led the way for the Blizzard hauling in 10 passes for 159 yards and 6 touchdowns. All three categories are new single game franchise records for the second year Blizzard. Lane was voted the Baby Ruth Deal Offensive Player of the Game as a result of his record setting performance. Also, WR/LB Robert Garth was voted the U. S. Army Ironman of the game with his 3 touchdown performance, with one being an interception return for a touchdown. QB Chris Greisen was sharp in his 4 touchdown performance while completing 10 of 15 passes for 179 yards, with 3 of those touchdown strikes going to former Arizona Cardinal teammate Randall Lane.
