Green Bay Blizzard News Release

DB Edward Kwaku (6'0", Florida A&M) will join the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe after playing one season with the Green Bay Blizzard. Kwaku's signing brings the Blizzard total of players moving up to other leagues (AFL, CFL & NFL) to 11 from last years American Conference Championship team.

Kwaku joined the Blizzard last season as the team's international player (Nigeria). He recorded 41 tackles, 2 interceptions for 15 yards, and recovered 2 fumbles. Kwaku was a very dependable player that adjusted well for a first year player in the af2.

The Green Bay Blizzard has been assigned DB Randee Drew (5'9", 190 Northern Illinois) and FB/LB Gustavus Tyson (6'3", 250 Virginia Union). Drew and Tyson are returning for their second season with the Blizzard. Both played key roles in the Blizzard American Conference Championship season last year.

Randee Drew played in 5 regular season games and 3 playoff games in 2006 and recorded 52 tackles, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble and 15 passes broken up. The Milwaukee native returns to a defense that was ranked third in red zone and fourth in total scoring defense (44.9 ppg)

"Randee was one of the pieces of the puzzle that put this team in championship form towards the end of the season. We are looking forward to what he can do in an entire af2 season," comments Blizzard Head Coach Doug Lytle.

Gus Tyson is a solid linebacker who will be able to fill in at the fullback position under the new substitution rules. We are looking forward to what Tyson will be able to do for us this season.

In other News: former Blizzard quarterback and Sturgeon Bay native Chris Greisen was named the AFL Offensive Player of the week for his performance against the Arizona Rattlers. Greisen Connected on 25 of 30 passes for 337 yards and 9 touchdowns in his first career start for the Force.
