Bakersfield, Calif. â It has been announced today that Bakersfield Sports Entertainment will continue to operate the Bakersfield Blitz of the arenafootball2 league. Bakersfield Sports Entertainment also owns and operates the Bakersfield Condors Professional Hockey team of the ECHL. The directors of Bakersfield Sports Entertainment are owner Jonathan Fleisig and President Matthew Riley. Rick Van Horne is expected to be retained as the Blitz Head Coach. More details will be announced at a media conference on Friday, January 14 at 2pm in Centennial Garden's clubroom.
Bakersfield finished the 2004 season with an 11-6 record, including the playoffs, taking the West Division Title and finishing as the #2 Seed in the National Conference. Among the accolades from the 2004 season, was the Blitz attendance increase of 22% from 2003, drawing 5,398 fans per game.
Season ticket prices for the Blitz will remain the same as last season, starting at just $63, and are on sale now by contacting the Blitz office at 716-BLITZ (2548) or signing up online at www.bakersfieldblitz.com. As was the case last season, all Condors season ticket holders can receive 25% off a Blitz package containing the same number of seats.
The team retail outlet for both teams, the Condors & Blitz Team Store, is located at 1022 Truxtun Avenue, directly across the street from Centennial Garden. It's hours of operation are 11:30am â 5:30pm Tuesday through Saturday.
