Blitz Team Up with Operation Soulwinner to Collect Athletic Equipment for Kids

June 6, 2007 - arenafootball2 (af2) - Bakersfield Blitz News Release

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield Blitz are teaming up, once again, to collect new athletic equipment for those in need in conjunction with Operation Soulwinner.

Fans that bring any piece of new athletic equipment to Rabobank Arena on Saturday, June 9th, will be able to purchase a Club Level ticket, regularly priced at $30, for just $5. The possibilities for donation are endless: a football, a jump rope, a hula hoop, a soccer ball or a pair of new children's size athletic shoes. Anything that is designed to keep kid's active and encourages healthy lifestyles.

Donations made this week will be distributed by Operation Soulwinner, a faith-based charitable organization that is dedicated to the helping disadvantaged children living in Kern County. The goal of Operation Soulwinner is to save lives, brighten futures and help develop healthy lifestyles.

"We're excited to team up with Minister Ray Ballard and Operation Soulwinner on this unique project," said Blitz President and General Manager Andrew Watkins. "Anytime we can help out the Bakersfield community and make a difference in the lives of children, we're happy to do so."

Saturday night's game is against the Spokane Shock, the defending ArenaCup Champions, whom the Blitz defeated in Spokane earlier this season, 44-28. For more information, please contact the Blitz at 661-377-2548 or visit www.BBLITZ.com.
