Bakersfield- The Blitz have been assigned former Steamwheelers head coach, Rick Frazier, as the new Defensive Coordinator by the af2. Frazier was previously the head coach for the Quad City team for three consecutive seasons.

The Tyler, Texas native began his arena football career in 1995 when he took the assistant head coach job with the Milwaukee Mustangs (AFL). Frazier was also head coach for the Norfolk Nighthawks in 2003 and led them to an 8-8 record tying for the second best mark in franchise history. Frazier has a total of 11 years of experience in the Arena Football League also coaching for the Toronto Phantoms (AFL) and the Grand Rapids Rampage (AFL).

Prior to entering the AFL in 1995, Frazier was a coaching legend in the state of Texas. He held the head coaching position for Cisco College in Cisco, Texas for seven years, guiding his team to a 43-25-2 record, the best for any head coach in school history.

In addition to his contributions to Arena Football, Frazier is also the proud father of three children, a son Donnie Joe and twin daughters, Jolenna and Brianna.

Former Defensive Coordinator, Cedric Walker, has been promoted as head coach for the Everett Hawks. The Blitz finished the season with a record of the fewest yards per game (194.8), the fewest completions (263), lowest completion percentage (50.8), and fewest yards per completion (6.0) with the help of Walker.
