Blitz Hold Youth Football Camp

Monday June 20th -Thursday June 23rd - Bakersfield Blitz coaches and players will take the field in different roles this week to host Blitz Football Camp. The camp is designed to teach boys and girls ages 8-14 basic football skills, including passing, catching, kicking, and blocking. The camp will run from 8am - 12pm, Monday - Thursday at the Silver Creek Center, 7011 Harris Road. At the end of the week, camp attendees will get to see their teachers in action as the Bakersfield Blitz take on the Central Valley Coyotes in the 2nd to last home game Friday, June 24th.

Tuesday, June 21st - Join Colonel Claw'd along with Director of Community Relations Mikie Hayhurst and Public Relations Assistant Angelese Reed at the Kern County Museum's "Annual Fun Day". From 9am-1pm, kids will get to test their hockey skills with the Condors Slapshot game, an inflatable puck shoot. Kern County Museum is located at 3801 Chester Ave in Bakersfield.

Thursday, June 23rd - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is opening the third annual St. Jude Dream Home in Bakersfield. Shannon Armstrong, Director of Ticket Administration, will attend the open house from 6-8pm. The St. Jude Dream Home is located at 11406 Champion Ave.

The Bakersfield Condors 2005-2006 regular season schedule is now available. The season begins on October 22nd against the Victoria Salmon Kings. Log on to www.bakersfieldcondors.com to see the entire schedule for the upcoming season, including three new opponents- the Stockton Thunder, Phoenix Roadrunners, and the Utah Grizzlies. Get your season tickets now by coming into the Bakersfield Sports Entertainment office at the Rabobank Arena or by calling 324-PUCK (7825).

Week in Review:

Monday, June 13th - Kern County Library kicked off the 2005 summer reading program "Dragons, Dreams, & Daring Deeds". The program, sponsored by KGET-TV 17 and Bakersfield Sports Entertainment, gives children the chance to earn free Blitz and Condors tickets. Any child who reads 10 books prior to Friday, July 15th will receive a voucher good for two (2) complimentary terrace tickets to the Blitz regular season finale on Friday, July 15th against the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings. Children who read 10 books after July 15th will receive a voucher good for two (2) complimentary terrace tickets to any regular season 2005-2006 Condors home game during the month of October. Thursday, June 16th - Crusher and Colonel Claw'd joined members of Bakersfield Sports Entertainment and the Condors Slapshot at the Downtown Business Association's monthly Street Faire.
