Bakersfield Blitz News Release

(Bakersfield, CA) - The Bakersfield Blitz announced today that general manager Brad Hoffman has resigned effective Sunday, June 15. Hoffman stated he would like to pursue other options as the reason for stepping down and will take over as the Sports Director in Palm Springs, CA at the local ABC affiliate.

"I knew the demands of starting a program when I took the job and told myself I would give it my best for two years," said Hoffman. "After that, I planned to go back into broadcasting. Well, it's been a great two years, and although the timing is never right for everything, you have to take the jobs when they become available. I will always remember my time with the Blitz and the great people of Bakersfield who worked hard to make the Blitz a successful franchise."

Under Hoffman's tutelage the Blitz recorded a 9-7 record last year including a West Division title and a playoff berth in the franchises inaugural season. During his stint in Bakersfield the Centennial Garden Arena averaged 5,567 fans per game.

"I would like to thank Brad for all his hard work and effort he has put into this organization," said VP of Operations Bob Flynn. "He was very instrumental in building this franchise from the ground up in his two years. We've always known that he has loved the broadcasting side of the business and we wish him the best of the luck in his new opportunity. Brad will always be remembered as part of the Bakersfield Blitz family."
