Blazers Trade Jonathan Dubois

Oklahoma City, Okla. – The Oklahoma City Blazers of the Central Hockey League traded the rights to centerman Jonathan Dubois to the Topeka Hockey Franchise, for the rights to defenseman Nate Elliot, the Blazers front office announced today.

Elliot, a 6-2, 215-pound native of Oswego, New York, skated the last two seasons with the Indianapolis Ice of the CHL. In two seasons with the Ice, he scored 24 points (10-14-24), while serving 152 penalty minutes in 126 games. Before turning pro, Elliot completed a four-year colligate career with SUNY-Owsego, scoring 70 points (24-46-70) in 110 games.

Dubois skated in just under two seasons with the Blazers, beginning in 2002. The 5-9, 180-pound native of Drummondville, Quebec scored 70 points (24-46-70) while serving 254 penalty minutes in 90 games as a Blazer. In nine professional seasons, Dubois has registered 670 points (193-477-670) and served 1,839 penalty minutes in 531 games.

The CHL franchise known last season as the Indianapolis Ice has moved to Topeka, Kansas. The yet-to-be-named team maintains the rights to all protected players on the Indianapolis Ice roster.

The Blazers will begin play in the team's 13th season in the CHL in late October. The 60-game schedule will be released pending completion in mid-August.
