
Blazers Team Up With University of Oklahoma

Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Oklahoma City Blazers will wear special crimson and crème jerseys with the University of Oklahoma interlocking logo on the crest for its home game on Thursday, February 27 against the Austin Ice Bats, the Blazers front office announced today.
University of Oklahoma women's basketball coach Sherri Coale will be on hand to help commemorate the event. Coale is scheduled to drop the puck for the opening face off. Also, members of the University of Oklahoma spirit squads will be leading Blazers fans in cheers throughout the evening. Blazer fans will also have a chance to win a pair of tickets to NCAA Women's Basketball first and second Rounds being hosted by OU on March 23 & 25 in Norman.
The University of Oklahoma sweaters worn by the players will be auctioned off in an online auction from Thursday, February 27 to Saturday, March 10 at the Blazers website, www.okcblazers.com. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Oklahoma City and Norman Public School systems.
In addition to the Blazers' game-worn OU sweaters available for auction, Bob Stoops, Sherri Coale and Kelvin Sampson will each have a numbered, lettered and autographed jersey available for bids as well.
Oklahoma City donned special orange and black Oklahoma State University sweaters on February 2 and 3 in the year 2000 and raised over $70,000 benefiting the school.
The Blazers plan to make university alumni night an annual tradition, alternating season honoring the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University's athletic accomplishments. The OSU date will be announced this summer upon the release of the 2003-04 schedule.
