Blaze Take Power out of Birmingham

The Chicago Blaze defeated the Birmingham Power 88-83 at home Saturday evening. The Blaze are now 8-5 on the season and has set the NWBL season record with seven wins in a row, passing the Springfield Spirit.

Dominique Canty led the Blaze with 18 points and 6 assists. Mfon Udoka finished with 17, and Latonya Johnson finished with 15. For the Power, Tiffany Travis finished with 22 points, Kelly Miller finished with 21 points, and Taquilla Allen added 19.

The Blaze will host the 2002 Champion Houston Stealth in the second half of back-to-back home games tomorrow, March 16th at 3pm at DePaul University's Athletic Center.

The NWBL showcases professional women basketball players across the nation; including players from the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) who choose to stay in the U.S. to play during the off-season. The 2003 season will run from February through April.
