Joplin Blasters News Release

Joplin Blasters pitcher Evan Bell has been signed by the Chicago White Sox organization, marking the third former Blaster to be signed into affiliated baseball.

Bell made his professional debut on Monday in Kansas City, during the Blasters' 7-4 defeat to the T-Bones. The 6-foot-8 righty faced the minimum three hitters in the bottom of the seventh, including a 6-4-3 double play to conclude a scoreless, hitless first inning in pro baseball.

The Leawood, Kansas native joined the Blasters after a productive career at Indiana University. Bell made 62 appearances over four seasons at Indiana, including 15 starts in his senior season. He won seven games over his collegiate career, and played on Indiana's 2013 College World Series team. He also played in the Cape Cod League last summer, pitching 12 times with a 2.48 ERA.

The Blasters congratulate on Bell on signing with the White Sox organization, and wish him all the best in his future baseball endeavors.
