INDIANAPOLIS, IN-The Blast will host the Cincinnati Riverhawks this Friday night at 7:35pm at Kuntz Stadium in their second home match of the year. The Blast have announced that it is "High School and College Night" and are offering 2-4-1 admission for students with a high school or college ID. Adult admission is $9 and anybody under the age of 18 is $5.
Students can bring their grade reports for a chance to participate in the "Roll in the Dough" contest. For every "A" on their grade report, each student gets an entry into the contest. Two students will be randomly drawn and will have the chance to win up to $500.
In what has been coined the Border Battle Cup, the Blast will play Cincinnati for the second time in 2003, the first at Kuntz Stadium. In their last meeting in Cincinnati, the Blast were beaten 3-0 and warranted some immediate personnel changes. When the Riverhawks come to Kuntz Stadium this Friday evening, the newly revamped Blast will be ready for revenge and will look for a 1-1 series tie with four games to go in the Border Battle Cup.
LAST WEEK-Last Friday night the Blast hosted the El Paso patriots in their First Annual "FREEBIE FRIDAY" event. The event was a huge success as the Blast had a team record opening night crowd of 3, 987. The Blast played El Paso to a double overtime draw with the score locked at 2-2. Newcomer Canadian International Semir Mesanovic had a brilliant debut with a goal and an assist in his first game with the Blast.
THIS WEEK-The Blast are back at practice this week in preparation for Friday evening's match against Cincinnati. Training sessions are open to both the public and the media. The Blast hold their practice sessions at Lawrence Soccer Park in Lawrence, IN. Contact the MorSports, Inc. office to confirm training sites and times.
NEXT HOME GAME-The Blast's next home game will be May 31st at 7:35pm. In partnership with Fanta and Univision, the Blast are hosting their second annual I"Noche Latina con el Indiana Blast"! (Latino Night). The event will kick off at 10:00am with two "Copa México de Fútbol 2003" matches followed by a FREE pre-game clinic put on by several of the Blast players. The Blast have created a festival atmosphere with LIVE music before the Blast game from Tresuno-7 (Threeone-7), a local Latino Band.
$5 admission, all ages (3 and under = Free) from 9:30AM - 6:00PM. Includes admission to both "XI Copa México de Fútbol 2003" games and admission to Blast vs. El Paso game.
6:00PM, when gates open for general admission, ticket prices will revert to $9/adults, $5/students (under 18), or the standard price for an Indiana Blast game.
All games are played at Kuntz Memorial Stadium located at 1502 W. 16th Street. Kuntz Stadium is an Indy Parks facility.
