INDIANAPOLIS- The "Last Blast of Summer - Fan Appreciation Night" will be August 31st as the Milwaukee Wave United return to town for the second and final time in 2003. The match will kick-off at 5:35pm. The last time Milwaukee ventured to Indianapolis, the Blast came away with a convincing 3-1 win.
In honor of Fan Appreciation Night, the Blast will host their annual end-of-season Yard Sale. Merchandise will be on sale for unbeatable prices and fans will have the opportunity to bid on 2003 Blast game jerseys during the Silent Auction. The highest bidder will walk away with the game worn home or road jersey of their favorite player.
LAST WEEK-The Blast lost another heartbreaker Sunday night as they fell to the Charleston Battery 2-1 in double overtime. Blast midfielder James Prosser opened the scoring in the eighth minute by putting away his own rebound. Charleston's Bryan Hoy equalized the score in the 28th minute on a deflected shot. In the final minute of double overtime, Seamus Donnelly put the game away with a shot from 18 yards out that went past the diving Blast keeper, Armando Femia.
PLAYER UPDATES-Jeffrey Samples and Mali Walton will be on the bench for Sunday's game. Both have accumulated points from yellow cards that will suspend them for the last game of the season.
Semir Mesanovic will also be absent Sunday evening. Mesanovic has been called up to play in an Olympic Qualifying game with the Canadian Olympic Team against the United States Virgin Islands.
