Springfield Jr. Blues News Release
The Jr Blues started out their regular season by splitting a four game set at the NAHL showcase the past weekend in Blaine, MN. They were able to get wins against the Austin Bruins and Corpus Christi Ice Rays but fell to the Lone Star Brahmas and Odessa Jackalopes.
On Wednesday the Jr Blues were unable to find the back of the net in a 5-0 loss to the Lone Star Brahmas, however, on Thursday the Jr. Blues were able to get the offense going. Anthony Scarsella, Michael Houle, Brady Tomlak, and Joey Lupo all scored a goal in a 4-1 victory over the Austin Bears. Tomlak, Kyle Meeh, Matt Long, Anthony Mangano, and Joe Immormino all tallied assists.
On Friday the Jr Blues struggled to find scoring early on but were able to score 3 third period goals form Stone, Tomlak and scarsella to get the 3-1 win over the Chorpus Cristi Ice Rays. Tomlak, Meeh, Stone, Houle, and Hunter Schneider all got assists helping set up the third period come from behind victory.
On Saturday the Jr blues fell to the Odessa Jackalopes 5-1.
The Jr Blues will be back in action this weekend for their home opener against the Coulee Region Chill on Oct. 2nd and 3rd. Doors open at 6:05 and the puck drops at 7:05.
