
Blades Travel To Swift Current Tonight

The Saskatoon Blades take their six-game winning streak to Swift Current tonight with a matchup against the Broncos. Game time is 7:30 pm.
Tonight's contest marks the first meeting of the season between the Blades and Broncos.
The Blades last played on Wednesday night at home where they earned a 4-3 victory over the Regina Pats. Travis Toomey (Leduc, AB) had two goals while Derek Hulak (Saskatoon, SK) and Stefan Elliott (North Vancouver, BC) added singles. Adam Morrison (White Rock, BC) got the win in net, stopping 28 of 31 shots his way.
Hulak continues to lead the Blades in scoring on the season and sits tied for sixth in the Western Hockey League with 6 goals and 13 assists for 19 points in 12 games played. Walker Wintoneak (Flin Flon, MB) is second with 6 goals and 9 assists for 15 points in 10 games on the season. Hulak, Wintoneak, and sophomore winger Burke Gallimore (Edmonton, AB) share the team lead in goals with six.
Morrison has seen the majority of the action between the pipes, making 10 starts with a 6-2-0-2 record to go along with a 2.16 goals against average and a .921 save percentage. Steven Stanford (Calgary, AB) has appeared in 4 games this season, split between the Blades and Prince Albert. The 19-year-old has a 2-2-0-0 record with a 2.90 goals against average and a .880 save percentage.
On the flip side, the Broncos come into tonight following a 5-2 victory over the Kamloops Blazers on Wednesday evening.
Justin Dowling has been the main offensive catalyst for the Broncos this season with 4 goals and 11 assists for 15 points in 13 games played. Veteran forwards Cody Eakin and Geordie Wudrick are tied for second in team scoring with 13 points each.
Morgan Clark has appeared in goal in 9 Broncos' games this season with a 5-2-0-1 record to go along with a 3.57 goals against average and .882 save percentage. Rookie Alexandre Sirard has appeared in 6 games so far with a 2-3-0-0 record, a 2.59 goals against average, and a .897 save percentage.

Tomorrow the Blades host the Kamloops Blazers on the special themed "Girls Rock Night". Special guest Olympic gold medalist and Saskatoon's own Catriona Le May Doan will be at Credit Union Centre for a special pregame speech to the girls' sports teams in attendance and to sign autographs.
