Blades Sign 2022 Prospect, Brayden Klimpke

SASKATOON, SK- The Saskatoon Blades are pleased to announce the signing of 2007-born defenceman, Brayden Klimpke, to a WHL Standard Player Agreement.

"We feel that Brayden was the most intelligent player available in the 2022 Draft. His defensive reads and positioning are instantaneous and are almost always accurate, ‚¬Â says director of scouting, Dan Tencer. "Offensively, he possesses vision and creativity and the skill level to execute at a high end. When his physical development takes the next step and he has the same size and strength that his peers possess right now, we anticipate him becoming a truly excellent 2-way player in our lineup. We're very happy to officially have him on board as part of our future. ‚¬Â The Blades selected Brayden 70th overall in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft on Thursday, May 19th.

The Calgary, AB product played his 2021-22 season with Northern Alberta Xtreme U15 Prep, lacing up for 29 games and earning 17 assists. The 5-foot-4, 116-pound left-shot defender also dressed twice with the Northern Alberta Xtreme U16 Prep.

Brayden is committed to the Northern Alberta Xtreme U17 Prep for the upcoming season and is expected to attend his first Western Hockey League camp with the Blades this coming Fall.

The Saskatoon Blades would like to welcome Brayden and the Klimpke Family into the organization, and look forward to continuing his development under the coaching of Brennan Sonne's coaching staff.
