ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades (19-7-8) upended the Columbia Inferno (19-14-1) 4-1 in front of a crowd of 6,665 at TECO Arena on Saturday night. With the win, the Everblades maintained first place in the ECHL's Southeast Division. Everblades forwards Joe Blaznek and Keith Anderson both had two goals in the win.

The Everblades got on the board first after forward Keith Anderson fired a shot from the goal line past Columbia netminder Josh Blackburn at the 1:00 mark of the period.

The Everblades then took a 2-0 lead on the power play after forward Joe Blaznek blasted a slap shot from the top of the circle at the 4:40 mark of the period. Forwards Tom Buckley and Laurent Meunier picked up the helpers on Blaznek's 12th goal of the year. The Inferno then made it 2-1 on a short handed goal by forward Paul Cabana.

In the second period, Florida extended their lead to 3-1 on Joe Blaznek's second goal of the game. Everblades forward Keith Anderson then scored his second goal of the game shorthanded at the 13:21 mark to give Florida a 4-1 lead.

Florida goaltender Rob Zepp (14-4-5) stopped 37 of 38 shots he faced while Columbia netminder Josh Blackburn (6-8-1) stopped 38 of 42 shots. The Everblades were 1 for 8 on the power play while the Inferno were 0 for 5.

Florida remains at home next week to battle the Pensacola Ice Pilots on Tuesday night at 7:30 PM.
