Ohio Valley Greyhounds News Release

The Ohio Valley Greyhounds of the UIF are pleased to announce the signing of defensive lineman Troy Blackwell (6-7,290). Blackwell just wrapped up a stellar career at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Blackwell is the younger brother of Greyhounds nose tackle Todd Blackwell and a native of McKeesport, PA.

A four-year starter for the Mocs, Blackwell enjoyed a solid senior season in 2005 posting 42 tackles and three sacks while lining up at defensive tackle. Blackwell's tackle total also included 9.5 tackles for loss.

In 2004 Blackwell totaled 40 stops with 9.5 for loss. As a sophomore Blackwell registered one quarterback sack starting all 12 games.

Blackwell is expected to provide depth along the defensive line and should be in the lineup this Saturday night when the Greyhounds host rival Lexington.
