Black Wolves Remain Undefeated on the Road

UNCASVILLE, CT - New England defeated New York, 12-8 on the road and improved to 6-3 overall and 3-0 on the road. Doug Jamieson recorded his 1000th career save and now has 1,031 total saves over the course of four seasons. Callum Crawford, Joe Resetarits and Reilly O'Connor led the Pack with three goals apiece. Crawford led all scorers with eight points adding five assists, rookie Andrew Kew tallied four assists and Resetarits and O'Connor contributed three more each.

The Black Wolves grabbed the first goal of the game with a power play goal scored by Crawford. The Riptide then came in strong and scored three straight goals to take a 3-1 lead at the end of the first. The second quarter is when New England came alive and Crawford and Resetarits brought the team within one. Crawford scored his second goal of the game and Resetarits netted in two back-to-back shots to make the score 5-4 with New York up headed into the half.

New England owned the third quarter and scored the only four goals for the 15 minutes. Continuing off Resetarits' two goals, Tony Malcom added a huge goal in transition to tie things up at five. O'Connor, Crawford and Stephan Leblanc finished off the third quarter scoring, which propelled the Pack ahead of the Riptide 8-5.

Things proved to heat up in the fourth as both teams scored a combined seven goals. New York grabbed its last three of the contest while New England tallied its last four. New York's Gale Thorpe and New England's Kew led things off and each scored their lone goal of the game. O'Connor recorded two more and Resetarits added one, each securing their hat tricks of the evening. Connor Kelly netted in his first of the evening for the Riptide and Travis Longboat grabbed his third to end the contest 12-8 in favor of the Black Wolves.

For the contest, the Black Wolves took 46 shots, grabbed a season-high 106 loose balls and caused 13 turnovers. The Riptide recorded 49 shots, collected 87 loose balls and also caused 13 turnovers.

In the net, Jamieson recorded 41 saves on 49 shots on goal. Former Black Wolf, Alex Buque tallied 34 saves on 46 shots on goal. Faceoff specialist and defenseman Joe Nardella dominated on the X against New York's Alex Woodall. Nardella went 15-of-24 while Woodall walked away with 9-of-24. Defensively, Creighton Reid and Adam Bomberry caused three turnovers apiece for the Pack.

New England will be back in action at home on Sunday, Mar. 1 and face the Halifax Thunderbirds at 5pm. The Pack is partnering with Yale New Haven Health for Faceoff Against Cancer night.
